Had I gone, I'd probably STILL be climbing back out. Rode straight up to Eagle Point, and at 10,000 feet I did not do that very fast. <br /><br />2015, I missed the cutoff by 30 minutes. <br /><br />As a SoCal flatlander from Mickey Mouse's backyard, it's next to impossible to prepare for the altitude. I even had the Roval Trail SL carbon hoops on it towards the end of our time together (which really took the bike to the next level). The reason I don't have it anymore? I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a 2013 version of the Marathon. Obviously I love this latest model, I've upgraded it from stock and its the best bike I've ever owned, but that 2010 Marathon was pretty darn close. My buddies have called me the "man of many stems" because I have bought so many recently. Between the saddle setback, the stem length,and the rise, it's all I can do to make sense of it all. I know any position I choose involves a compromise of some kind. After much playing around I have got my cockpits the way I want them. But- if my goals change, or I want to adapt a bike to a particular ride, I'm ready to start fiddling again!
